Massive Goal Fail and What I’ll Do Moving Forward

supremegains.comToday is a sad day.

My goal to be fit in order to participate in the Men’s Physique Competition this November, is a massive FAILURE.

To say I’m disappointed in myself is an understatement. Granted I still have roughly two months to meet this goal, I can realistically forecast that I’ll not make it in time. Mainly because my physical appearance has not changed — if anything, it got worst. I’ll explain later.

In the meantime, I guess the real question you’re asking is…

What happened?

Well, it’s a culmination of many reasons, all of which, were my fault.

Poor Time Management

Between my day job, maintaining this blog, and just life in general, I did not balance my time accordingly to ensure I hit the gym on the days I’m supposed to.

It’s easy to come home, after a long day’s work, and “veg-out” in the couch to watch TV, or get on Facebook to connect with friends and family. Granted, the latter is not so bad, it should still be controlled.

Before long, the day is almost over and I have to sleep to work the next day.

Not Maintaining This Blog

I created this blog to not only help you achieve your fat loss and muscle-building goals, but it was also supposed to keep me accountable for my own goals.

This proved not to be the case.

You’ll notice my posting routine has not been timely, nor consistent. I allowed too many distractions and I’ve developed a severe case of “writer’s block” as well. Not knowing what to write, drives me crazy!

Often, I wondered if having a blog is a good idea. I mean, it’s not worth having one, if you’re not regularly updating it and helping others with it, right?

Nevertheless, if I continue on this journey, I need to post consistently so I can continue to provide quality content to help you achieve your fat loss and muscle-building goals. Furthermore, I need to stay accountable so I can finally make that transformation.

It’s been years since I’ve felt energetic and looked physically good.

Inconsistent Workout and Diet Regimen

Of all the reasons outlined here on why I didn’t meet my fitness goal, is due to not developing a workout plan and sticking to my diet. Like I mentioned earlier, I haven’t been going to the gym as often as I should; and if I did, my workouts are either not intense enough or not structured to create results. I would mainly workout when I felt like it, or do the same body part because I love it more than the others.

This isn’t ideal, if you want to build muscle or lose weight. There’ll be days you don’t want to workout, but have to, because it’s in the schedule. Sticking to a schedule is the only way to ensure consistency in your training for best results.

But the most important key to achieving the body you want, is to maintain a healthy diet.

I can argue that, regardless of being inconsistent with my workouts, if ate healthier, I would’ve seen results. You can workout as much as you want, but if you continue to eat like crap, you’ll still look like crap.

Furthermore, my metabolism wasn’t firing in all cylinders because of that reason. So even if I ate less, my body was still susceptible to storing fat instead of burning it.

The Future of Supreme Gains

Am I going to quit?

HELL NO!

I may have failed, but my journey is not over. I may have lost the battle, but not the war.

Having said that, I’ll keep pushing forward and re-evaluate the reasons for my failure to ensure success. I mean, I already know what I’m doing wrong and what I need to do moving forward.

So, I just need to do it.

In the meantime, I’m going to take down the countdown clock and continue without it. At this point, it’s now irrelevant. I also know there’ll be another competition next year, so I set it up for then, as soon as I find out when it’ll be hosted.

This failure is an embarrassment to me and I apologize, if you’ve been following along and have to read this. Nevertheless, I know successes are often met with failure along the way – as long as you never give-up and always stand right back up after you fall, you will succeed.

Until next time…
